Elizabeth Gilligan was born and raised in Great Falls, Montana, where Macy’s is considered high fashion and issues of Vogue collect dust behind Field and Stream on magazine racks. Her physical distance from the fashion industry ignited a curiosity in her that grew as she taught herself and studied the basics of garment construction and fashion illustration throughout her early education.
She never quite grew out of her eight-year-old self’s obsession with color and texture, which brought her across the country to Drexel University in 2012. Through Drexel’s Cooperative Education program, she completed a six-month internship in Women’s Design at Michael Kors during her third year. Her experiences in New York allowed her to refine her aesthetic and realize her appreciation for design that involves humor, personality, practicality, and activism.
She recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design, and she leaves Drexel with a refined appreciation for design and an unabashed commitment to spending the rest of her career exercising her imagination and fostering creativity in others.
She is currently an intern with the Originals Apparel Design team at adidas in Portland, OR ///
